Adela Peña is a native New Yorker, and received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the Juilliard School. As founding member of Eroica Trio, she has appeared throughout the world as soloist in Beethoven Triple Concerto: highlights include Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle and Pittsburgh symphonies, Mostly Mozart Orchestra; Hong Kong Philharmonic, Budapest Symphony and Prague Chamber Orchestra. Trio recitals include Musikverein in Vienna, Concertgebow in Amsterdam, and Alice Tully Hall in New York's Lincoln Center, and media features include PBS, NPR, ABC and Fox television and radio. The Eroica Trio released seven recordings on the Angel/EMI label, and received two Grammy nominations with Ms. Peña as violinist. As a performer in Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, she has participated in national and international tours, Carnegie Hall performances, and recordings on Deutsche Grammophon label. As violin soloist, she was winner of Washington International Competition, recitalist at Phillips Gallery in Washington D.C., and concerto soloist with the English Chamber Orchestra. Her teachers include Margaret Pardee, Boris Belkin, Felix Galimir, Harry Shub, and Rochelle Walton. She is presently Violin Instructor and Chamber Music Coach at University of Pennsylvania, and faculty member of Mannes College Preparatory Division.
