Allison Eldredge, cello
Cellist Allison Eldredge is internationally renowned as a soloist, recording artist and educator. She is the recipient of the Avery Fisher Career Grant, a National grant for America’s most exceptional solo artists. She was the honored recipient of Musical America’s Young Artist of the Year Award. Since 2000, Allison Eldredge has served on the Cello and Chamber Music Faculty of the New England Conservatory Preparatory School. Her students have consistently won competitions and have graduated onto music schools and universities including The Juilliard School, New England Conservatory, Eastman, Manhattan, Shepherd, Thornton and Jacobs School of Music, Peabody and Cleveland Institutes of Music, the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal College of Music of London, Royal Northern College of Music, Mannes, Oberlin and Bard Colleges, New England Conservatory, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Columbia, Harvard, Princeton, New York, Penn State, John Hopkins, Brandeis, Temple, Brown and Boston Universities; and the Universities of Princeton, Chicago, Southern California, Houston and many more. She has been on Faculty at Harvard University 2008-2011 and has been Artistic Director of the Foulger International Music Festival, and the Killington Music Festival. Allison Eldredge is the Artistic Director of Young Talent Chamber Music in Connecticut since 2014. A leader in musical education, Allison Eldredge has visited over 100 schools and regularly gives masterclasses as she travels. She has given master classes at national conservatories and universities, including Boston Conservatory, USC, UCLA, Harvard and Brigham Young University, University of Alabama, Colorado, Kansas, Oregon and others.
As a soloist, Allison Eldredge has played with 30 major orchestras and innumerable others including the Montreal Symphony, Moscow Virtuosi, Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony, the New York, Los Angeles, Warsaw, Tokyo and the Hague Philharmonic; the Royal Philharmonic of London, the Cleveland Orchestra, Berlin Symphoniker, Netherlands, Polish Radio, Budapest, Virginia and New World Symphonies, the China National Symphony, the Juilliard Orchestra and the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra and with premiere Music Directors including Charles Dutoit, Zubin Mehta, Andre Previn, Daniel Barenboim and Krzyzstof Penderecki among many others. Ms. Eldredge has released 7 solo albums on Denon Records, Pony Canyon Classics, BMG and Arizona State University Records. She performs on the 2015 “Eldredge” Zygmuntowicz cello and a 1740 Carlo Antonio Testore cello.
