    Olga Dashevskaya, piano, theory

    An active performer and lecturer, Olga Dashevskaya gave her first piano recital at the age of 8 in her native Ukraine. She started her music lessons at the Kharkov Special Music school when she was five, and studied there for 12 years. She holds BA and MA in piano performance and music history from the Kharkov State Conservatory.

    Since immigrating to USA in 1990, Ms. Dashevskaya has extensively performed as a soloist, with various orchestras, and given numerous lectures-recitals in USA, as well as in Russia and Israel. Her style is praised for “poetic sonority, powerful and expressive execution, highly tasteful virtuosity and interpretation”, as well as for thoughtful confidence as a collaborator in Chamber music.

    Her passion for chamber music brought her to form in 2008, with violinist Lydia Sviatlovskaya, a piano-violin duo, DuoClassica, which regularly plays widely diverse repertoire from Baroque to Contemporary. The Duo’s performances are consistently marked by extraordinary musicality, passion, precision and dazzling virtuosity In 2012 DuoClassica issued a CD Love, Death and Music. DuoClassica is a frequent guest at the Colorado Public Radio.

    Ms. Dashevskaya runs a private Music school, where students learn the mastery of Piano Performance as well as receive a thorough and broad general musical education. Many students, guided by Ms. Dashevskaya, have won top prizes in numerous competitions, and successfully entered prestigious Music Major programs at the universities throughout USA.
