    Taiwanese pianist Pei-Chun Liao was selected as "2009 Young Star of National Concert Hall" in Taiwan. She performs internationally as a concerto soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician. She made appearances at prestigious venues around the world including her UK debut at Birmingham Symphony hall where her recital received a special mention, Manchester Peel Hall, Mozarteum Wiener Saal ( Salzburg), Salle Cortot ( Paris), Rachmaninoff Hall ( Tambov), Halifax International Young Musician Festival, Presteigne Music Society, London Forge venue, Calne Marden House, Knighton Chamber Music Society, Barber Institute (UK) and more recently in Spain, participating in a concert tour around the region of Castilla y León. As a soloist, she performed with National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, Bacau Philharmonic Orchestra and Taipei Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.

    Pei-Chun has also regularly participated at master classes given by pianists such as Fou Ts'ong, Leon Fleisher, Peter Donohoe, Jacques Rouvier, Hans Leygraf, Paul Badura-Skoda and Robert Levin...etc. She is a prizewinner of numerous competitions, such as the 3rd prize at the Taipei Chopin international Chopin Competition, the Taiwan Young artist Competition, the Beryl Chempin Beethoven Prize, Birmingham Conservatoire Piano Prize, Renna Kellaway Piano Recital Competition, Birmingham Symphony Hall Recital Prize and the Ludlow Philharmonic Concerto Prize. More recently she received the 2nd Prize at the 7th Mauro Paolo Monopoli International Piano Competition (2004) in Italy and was also selected by the concert association in Castilla y León to participate as a chamber musician in a concert tour in 2005and 2006.

    Pei-Chun began her musical studies at the age of three and received her music training in Taipei, UK and Germany. She studied at the Taipei National University of the Arts with Tai- Cheng Chen and Michael Dellinger. She continued her studies at the Birmingham Conservatoire, with Malcolm Wilson and Philip Martin, graduating with Distinction in both her Masters for the Arts and Diploma in Performance Studies. After her studies in England, she entered the Musikhochschule in Freiburg in Germany where she studied with Professor Vitali Berzon and graduated with the highest award (Auszeichnung).

    In 2012, Pei- Chun was invited for several chamber music concerts and also gave a recital tour "Hear the Scene" in Taiwan, China, England and Germany. She was just invited by National Chinese Orchestra for Republic of China centenary concert and gave the "Matsu Piano Concerto" as the soloist. Pei-Chun's first album will be released in 2013.

    Pei-Chun is currently an assistant professor on the piano faculty at the Taipei Municipal University of Education in Taiwan.
